En mission dans la région de Bankuy, le chef de coopération de l’Union européenne au Burkina Faso M. DUPONCEL Marc a visité le jeudi 26 février 2026, le site d’aménagement d’un périmètre maraîcher réalisé dans le cadre du PROGIRE. Objectif, apprécier les réalisations du projet et échanger avec les bénéficiaires.
Le Projet de Renforcement de l’Opérationnalisation de la Gestion Intégrée des Ressources en Eau dans les quatre sous-bassins versants de l’espace de compétence de l’Agence de l’Eau du Mouhoun intégrant le genre (PROGIRE) contribue à l’amélioration durable des conditions de vie des populations. Financé par l’Union européenne, le projet est mis en œuvre par Eau Vive Internationale (EVI) en partenariat avec l’ONG Help.
Le chef de la Coopération de l’Union Européenne au Burkina Faso, Marc DUPONCEL, a salué la qualité des infrastructures réalisées par le consortium EVI _ Help.
Les infrastructures réalisées par le consortium EVI – Help comprennent notamment, la transformation d’une Pompe à Motricité Humaine (PMH) en Poste d’Eau Autonome d’une capacité de 10 m³ ; la construction d’un bassin de rétention de 10 m³ ; la sécurisation d’un périmètre maraîcher d’un hectare par une clôture grillagée.
Grâce à ces réalisations, les bénéficiaires disposent désormais d’un espace sécurisé facilitant la production maraîchère, contribuant ainsi à l’amélioration de la sécurité alimentaire locale et à la génération de revenus.
Au cours des échanges, M. DUPONCEL a salué l’engagement, la solidarité et la résilience des femmes impliquées, soulignant que ces valeurs constituent un socle essentiel pour la réussite et la durabilité des initiatives soutenues par l’Union européenne.

Le PROGIRE est mis en œuvre depuis 2023 et couvre les sous bassins versants de quatre (4) Comité Locaux de l’Eau (CLE) à savoir Kou, Plandi 2, Mouhoun Tâ et Vranso3.

Funded by the European Union, the project is implemented by Eau Vive Internationale in partnership with the NGO Help.
During a mission to the Bankuy region, the Head of Cooperation of the European Union in Burkina Faso, Mr. Marc Duponcel, visited on Thursday 26 February 2026 a market gardening site developed under the PROGIRE project. The goal was to appreciate the project’s achievements and engage in discussions with the beneficiaries.
The infrastructure built by the Eau Vive Internationale – Help consortium includes the conversion of a human-powered pump (PMH) into an autonomous water station with a capacity of 10 m³; the construction of a 10 m³ retention basin; and the securing of a one-hectare market gardening area with a wire fence.
Thanks to this infrastructure, the beneficiaries now have a secure space that facilitates market gardening, thereby contributing to improved local food security and income generation.
During the discussions, Mr. Duponcel praised the commitment, solidarity, and resilience of the women involved, emphasizing that these values are essential to the success and sustainability of the initiatives supported by the European Union.

For their part, the beneficiaries shared testimonies on the positive impact of the project on their living conditions, emphasizing the strengthening of their economic autonomy and the restoration of their dignity through market gardening activities.
PROGIRE has been implemented since 2023 and covers the sub-watersheds of four (4) Local Water Committees (CLE): Kou, Plandi 2, Mouhoun Tâ, and Vranso 3.
